Free Tools / Encoding & data / JSON Generator

JSON Generator

Write one record as a template with placeholders like {{name}}, {{email}} or {{int(1, 500)}}, choose how many you need, and get an array of realistic fake records — for mocks, fixtures, load tests and demos.

Placeholders

Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter here is sent to a server.

Test data that looks real

Mock APIs, UI prototypes, database fixtures and load tests all need data, and "test1", "test2" hides problems that real data shows at once: long names that break a layout, accented characters that break an encoding, numbers in a range the code did not expect. A template gives you control over the shape of every record and realistic values in every field.

Types are kept

A field that is only a placeholder becomes the right JSON type: "{{int(1, 9)}}" turns into the number 7, "{{bool}}" into true. Placeholders inside longer text stay strings.

Records hang together

Within one record, the name, email and username belong to the same invented person, and the city matches the country.

Reproducible

The seed fixes the random sequence. Keep the seed and template in your repository and anyone can regenerate the exact same fixtures.

Safe to publish

Emails use reserved example domains and phone numbers the fictional 555 range, so generated data never reaches a real person.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a field a number instead of a string?

Put the placeholder alone in the quotes: "count": "{{int(1, 100)}}" becomes "count": 42. If there is other text around it, such as "Order #{{int(1, 100)}}", the result stays a string.

Can I get the same data again later?

Yes. The same template, record count and seed always produce exactly the same output. Change the seed for a different set.

How many records can it generate?

Up to 10,000 per run, in your browser. For larger sets, generate with the same template several times using different seeds and combine the files.

Is the data real?

No. Names, companies and addresses are combined at random from short lists, emails use reserved example domains and phone numbers the 555 range, so none of it belongs to a real person.
