Free Tools / JSON Minifier

JSON Minifier

Paste JSON to validate it and compact it into the smallest valid form. Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

When to minify JSON

Whitespace in JSON is optional. Removing it shrinks payloads, which helps with request size limits, query strings and storage.

Smaller payloads

Less to transfer on every request, especially for large arrays of objects.

Embedding in HTML or env vars

Single-line JSON is easier to drop into a data attribute or an environment variable.

Validation for free

The tool parses before it minifies, so invalid JSON is reported rather than mangled.

Safe output

Only whitespace is removed. Keys, values and ordering stay exactly as they were.

Frequently asked questions

Does minifying change my data?

No. The output parses to exactly the same value; only insignificant whitespace is removed.

Will it reorder keys?

No. Key order is preserved.

Is my JSON uploaded?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser.
